Rooms
Your room
Six rooms, each with air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The windows are the original wooden ones and do not seal well, so the air conditioning only works with them closed.
Breakfast
Served in the courtyard from 7am to 10am, under the mango tree. Tapioca and cuscuz made to order, cassava cake, and whatever fruit the market had that morning.
Facilities
The house
You have the courtyard, the lookout, the kitchenette and the laundry at the back. The lookout stays open until 10pm and is where most people end the night.
House rules
The house is from 1878: the floorboards creak and sound travels up the stairs. Tread lightly after 10pm. No smoking indoors; the courtyard and lookout are fine.
The area
We are at the top of Carmo, four minutes from the Sé and seven from the Ribeira market. All of Olinda is walkable: uphill, but walkable. Old Recife is 25 minutes by car.

Dona Neuza is available from 7am to 8pm; after that, WhatsApp. The pharmacy on Praça do Carmo delivers up the lane, and Léo's motorbike taxi carries luggage uphill.

How things work
Portão da ladeira
É pesado e abre puxando para si, não empurrando. A chave grande é a do portão; a pequena, a do quarto.
Ar-condicionado
O controle fica na parede, ao lado do interruptor. As janelas são de madeira antiga e não vedam: feche-as antes de ligar.
Subida do mirante
A escada do mirante fica atrás da cozinha. A luz acende por sensor no primeiro degrau.
Café fora do horário
Se precisar sair antes das 7h, avise na véspera que a Dona Neuza deixa um cuscuz e uma garrafa térmica na mesa.

- Não fumamos dentro. No pátio e no mirante, à vontade.
- No carnaval a casa fecha às 2h: quem for pular, leve a chave e avise.
- A mangueira do pátio derruba fruta. Não estacione bicicleta embaixo dela.
